There is a trace to an inch of new snow across most of the advisory area, with 2” around Cooke City. Winds are generally 5-10 mph out of the southwest through east with 15-20 mph gusts, but are blowing 25-30 mph with gusts up to 100 mph in Island Park. Temperatures this morning are in the teens F and will rise into the high 20s and 30s F today. Winds will generally remain light. Expect a mix of sun and clouds again today, with snow showers not amounting to much accumulation. A couple inches of snow are possible overnight near Cooke City.
There are 3-5” of new snow near Bozeman and Big Sky, with 7-10” of new snow around West Yellowstone, Island Park, and Cooke City. Strong winds yesterday have backed off and are now blowing 5-10 mph out of the west with 15-25 mph gusts. Light winds will continue today, shifting a bit more southwesterly. It is snowing in the mountains and the winds are strong. At 6 a.m. the The Bridger Range has a trace, Big Sky has 2” and 3-6” has fallen in the southern ranges. Wind is averaging 15-35 mph with gusts hitting 40-71 mph from the SW-NW. Temperatures are in the low 20s F. Snow will continue today and taper off early tomorrow. Wind will remain westerly and lessen to 15-25 mph sometime this afternoon. By morning the northern mountains will have 3-6” and the southern ranges will have 6-10”.
In the last 24 hours 6” has fallen in the Bridger Range, in Hyalite and around Big Sky. All other areas received an inch of snow. Wind is blowing W-NW at 10-25 mph with temperatures in the mid teens F. Skies will turn from partly cloudy during the day to cloudy by this evening. Temperatures are forecasted to reach the upper 30s F. The mountains around Island Park, West Yellowstone and Cooke City will get 1-3” of snow by morning with more tomorrow.

Yesterday afternoon, as snowfall began, wind from the southwest increased to 15-25 mph with gusts of 35-60 mph. This morning wind shifted west-northwest and lessened to 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Today, snow showers will continue, temperatures will be in the 20s F, and wind will be from the north-northwest at 5-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. By tomorrow morning another 1-3” of snow could fall with a possibility for more in the Bridger Range.
This morning, there is no new snow, temperatures are mid-20s to low 30s F, and wind is southwest-west at 10-25 mph with gusts of 25-35 mph. Today an approaching cold front will bring snow showers and a chance for thunder this afternoon. Temperatures will reach mid-30s to low 40s F with wind out of the southwest at 10-25 mph. Near West Yellowstone light snow is possible this morning, and throughout the forecast area snow will fall late this afternoon through tomorrow. By morning the mountains could get 3-5” of snow with more tomorrow.
There are 3-4” of new snow in the Bridger, Madison, and Gallatin Ranges, and near Cooke City. 1” fell at Lionhead and in Island Park. Winds gusted into the high 40s to 60s mph yesterday afternoon and are now 10-15 mph with gusts of 30-40 mph out of the north and west. Winds today will continue to be moderate and westerly.
