This morning the mountains near West Yellowstone and Cooke City have 5-8” of new snow with no new snow elsewhere. Temperatures are high teens to high 20s F. Strong south-southwest wind has been steady at 20-40 mph with gusts of 40-80 mph. Today temperatures will be high 20s to low 30s F and strong southwest winds will continue at 20-40 mph. Heavy snowfall is expected near West Yellowstone today and tomorrow with snow elsewhere tomorrow. By tomorrow morning the mountains near Bozeman and Big Sky might get 1” of new snow with 1-3” near Cooke City, and 10-15” near West Yellowstone.

This morning the mountains near West Yellowstone and Cooke City have 4-6” of new snow with no new snow elsewhere. Temperatures are teens to low 20s F. Since yesterday morning wind has been strong to extreme out of the south-southwest with average speeds of 30-60 mph and gusts to 40-70 mph. Today, strong to extreme southwest winds will continue, and temperatures will be high 20s to low 30s F. Snow will continue near Cooke City and West Yellowstone where another 3-5” are possible, and elsewhere could get 1-3” by tomorrow morning.

Three inches of low density snow fell yesterday in the Bridger Range, 1” in Hyalite and the Madison Range, and a trace in the Lionhead area and around Cooke CIty. West and southwest winds have been blowing 20-30 mph with gusts of 45-60 mph. These strong west and southwest winds will continue today. Temperatures this morning are in the single digits and teens F. High temperatures will be in the teens and low 20s F. Snow showers will start this morning and pick up overnight, favoring the southern portion of the advisory area. By tomorrow morning, expect 4-6” around West Yellowstone and Cooke City with only a trace to 1” around Bozeman and Big Sky. Snowfall will continue tomorrow.

Over the last two days, 11” of snow fell near Cooke City, 5-8” near West Yellowstone, and 1-2” near Bozeman and Big Sky. Winds are 5-10 mph out of the west with gusts of 15-25 mph. Temperatures this morning are in the single digits F and will only rise a few degrees today. Winds will be 15-25 mph out of the west. The sun will poke out today, but there is also a chance for light snow showers. More significant snowfall is forecast for tomorrow into Sunday.

Yesterday morning there was 7” of new snow in the Bridger Range, Big Sky area and Cooke City. Other areas got 3-4” with amounts dwindling to an inch outside West Yellowstone. Since then, west to southwest wind increased to 20-30 mph with gusts of 50 mph. Temperatures this morning are near 20F and will reach 30F, but cool into the teens tomorrow. Winds will continue to be strong today and taper off this evening. By tomorrow morning a trace to 1” of snow is expected with Cooke City getting 2”.

Saturday night into Sunday morning it snowed 1” in the Bridger Range, 2” near Big Sky, and 5” in Hyalite. The rest of the advisory area stayed dry. Winds are 15-25 mph out of the west with gusts up to 35 mph. Similar winds will continue today, likely increasing in strength Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures are in the single digits and low teens F this morning. Temperatures will be in the teens and 20s F through mid-week. Snowfall will begin this afternoon, favoring Cooke City. By the time the storm ends tomorrow morning, expect 6-8” around Cooke City and 2-4” elsewhere. Another round of snowfall is on tap for Wednesday. 

On Monday night the mountains got 3-5” of snow in Hyalite and Big Sky with 1-2” elsewhere. Since Tuesday, temperatures have been generally above freezing reaching 40s and 50s F, and wind has been southwest at 15-25 mph with gusts of 50-60 mph. This morning temperatures are mid-20s to low 30s F and wind is westerly at 10-20 mph. Today temperatures will reach high 30s to low 40s F with westerly wind at 10-20 mph. Wind will increase to 30-40 mph through Saturday and continue through Sunday with gusts of 40-60 mph expected. Saturday night, 1-3” of new snow could fall as temperatures drop to the teens and low 20s F by Sunday morning.

In the Madison and Bridger Ranges, 1-2” of snow fell Friday night while the rest of the advisory area remained dry for the weekend. West to southwest winds ramped up Sunday to 20-40 mph with gusts in the 60s mph and largely above freezing temperatures. This week, temperatures will stay below freezing in the southern ranges while the northern ranges will reach the 30s and 40s F during the day. Moderate to strong winds from the southwest will return to the mountains Tuesday afternoon. There is a chance for 1-2” of new snow Monday night, but we have to wait for the weekend for our next chance for significant precipitation.

Only an inch or two of new snow fell over the last two days. Moderate southwest to northwest winds have been gusting to 35-50 mph. This morning temperatures in the Bridgers have risen into the high 30s and 40s F, while the rest of the advisory is in the teens and 20s F. Temperatures over the weekend will be in the 20s to high 30s F under partly cloudy skies with moderate southwest-west winds. There may be a sprinkling of snow tonight, but the next chance for real accumulation is towards the middle or end of next week.

Last night the mountains received 3-6 inches of snow. Wind has been out of the northwest at 10-15 mph with gusts of 25-40 mph. This morning temperatures are mid-teens to low 20s F. Today temperatures will reach mid-20s F and wind will be west-northwest at 10-25 mph with clearing skies. The next few days will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with temperatures reaching low 30s F during the day and teens to low 20s F at night. On Thanksgiving, strong westerly wind is expected with gusts up to 30-40 mph. There is a slight chance for maybe an inch of snow on Friday night.
